right after your appointment
You will have a plastic wrap or “second skin” sticker applied. This covering provides a protective layer, preventing bacteria from getting into your skin. It also protects the tattoo from rubbing against your clothes and getting irritated.
Please keep the sticker on your skin for at least 2-3 days.
For plastic wrap: remove it after 1.5 hours and wash with soap and water. (applied in case your skin is super sensitive or you had an allergic reaction to second skin before).
THE FIRST WEEK
After 2-3 days of having your sticker on, take it off while taking a warm (not hot) shower by gently peeling it off your skin in the direction of the tattoo, sliding it off the skin by pulling the lowest corner down. Please do it carefully.
After the sticker (or plastic wrap) is removed:
With clean hands, gently wash the tattoo with warm water and fragrance-free soap. (For example: Dove unscented or any other UNSCENTED tattoo wash). NO ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP!!
Pat your skin dry with a soft, clean cloth (paper towel).
Apply and gently massage a small amount of fragrance-free and alcohol-free moisturizer onto the tattoo. Something like .Eucerin intensive repair, Lubriderm, etc.
HEALING PROCESS
For the first 2 weeks, wash your tattoo twice a day with unscented soap, and apply a fragrance-free moisturizer by gently massaging it into your skin with clean hands.
As the tattoo begins to heal, you might experience itching of the skin and some mild irritation - please DO NOT scratch the tattoo. Pat it gently with a clean, wet paper towel to ease the itching once you wash your tattoo.
